The Scriptures record that when the wise men arrived where Jesus was, they had brought three types of gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Each of these gifts has a symbolic meaning attached to it which gives us insight into who Jesus is: our ultimate Prophet, Priest, and King. Through this message and our looking at gifts, we want to reframe how we look at gifts so that every single time you either get a gift or give a gift, you would think of the greatest gift that God gave us, which is, namely, his son, Jesus Christ, who saved us from our sin, and that gift should humble us. So, if we get this, this is why we must listen to this message, and if we don’t ignore it, we can become people like Christ, humble people who become pleasant people who become giving people.
