The Two Symbols Of Salvation: Baptism
Show Notes

In the Christian faith, there are two main symbols of salvation. They are Baptism and The Lord's Supper.  Baptism is how you identify with God's family. In this message, Pastor Kipko talks about the first symbol of salvation, which is baptism.

Here at Forward Church, we baptize the way they did in the Bible—putting people all the way under the water. It is a symbol of burial and resurrection. Just like Jesus Christ died and was buried in the ground for three days and then rose again. In the Bible, there was no such thing as a person claiming to be a Christian and not being baptized. It was automatic. You were baptized as soon as you gave your life to Christ. It was a picture of the new life you had been given by Jesus.

Baptism doesn’t make you a believer—it shows that you already believe. Baptism does not “save” you, only your faith in Christ does that. Baptism is a picture of putting off the old way of living and putting on a new way of life in Jesus. Off with the old, on with the new. Buried with Christ in baptism, and raised to walk a brand-new life.
