What does Psalm 23 actually promise?

Most people know the words, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” But many misunderstand what David is saying.

Psalm 23 is not a promise that life will be easy, that you’ll never suffer, or that God will give you everything you’ve ever wanted. Instead, it reveals something even greater: the Lord is the perfect Shepherd who provides, restores, guides, protects, and ultimately brings His people safely home.
